The Hype: Chris Brann alter-ego Ptaah reached deep into the far & bizarre depths with the Perfumed Silence LP on the eclec-tronic Street King imprint. Here presented are a collective of remixes from the LP amply titled Remixed Silence. Featuring remixes from several of well respected and up and coming producers. Jazztronik turns out an atypical remix of Cosmic Sun retaining a bit of the 4/4 interrupted by noisy broken percussion. Hes on a whole other trip. Europe’s own Gramophonedzie, who are best known for having a previous Beatport and Traxsource #1 tunes with “Why Don’t You.” Their club mix has fantastic arrangement and overall energy and their Deep Remix has a nice bounce. Italy’s Locarini also delivers a heady smooth and energetic interpretation of “The Love In My Life” that’s guaranteed to get your brain and body bouncing. Dance Until We Die features the vocals of uncanny Brooklyn no-wavey vixen Tiombe Lockhart. Turning this tune on its ass are remixes from Master at Work Kenny Dope who submits a breaky punchy remix. Art of Tones pushes a really nice minimal affair. Northern Italian star Dance producers Supernova remix “Everything is Naturally Free,” and there’s so much riding on this mix it’s almost impossible to describe, and a superb Edit made by edit-master Danny Krivit, has won over the crowds when he played it at his renowned 718 Sessions parties as well as the legendary Body & SOUL events. UK House producer Spencer Parker is on “Your Soul On Mine” duty adding a bit more acoustic rawness with live-sounding percussion colored by repeated cinematic piano and string jabs while keeping the jazziness intact. Listen and know what we mean. UK-by-way-of-Argentinian producers Silver City who gives “Fade Away” a phenomenal, full on modern Disco feel. “Perfumed Silence” remixed by up and coming Italian producer Francesco Tarantini who’s already creating a buzz with his infectious Deep/Tech/Soulful House tracks. “Brown Out”‘s break-beat experimental original get a superb re-rub by talented German tech producer Siopis, who’s had productions on notable labels like Get Physical, and delivers a deep pumpin’ chunker. Super-talented French producer Manoo delivers a straight up 4/4 deep soundscape-y house mix of “Sun’s Departure.” Quite the masterpiece in its production and arrangement Japanese producer, Kuniyuki, whose Dub of “Tears and Light” brings the song out of the Garden Tea Party and back onto the dance floor. The Cosmic Laws remixed by Mr. Phil Asher of UK Restless Soul providing his signature soul style is the absolute perfect bed for Monday Michiru wondrous vox to lay upon. Though Perfumed Silence is a significant record in laying fresh foundations this remodeled compilation of remixes continues to push forward Ptaah to further depths.

The Hype: Here comes a tune that’s right up our alley. Heard recently on the Miami 2012 comp, this Classic Disco-styled debut release is brought to you by French producers known as Mind Street. They create an orchestral club movement with a slew of talented writers and musicians, all contributing to this major effort, and with eight full-on sweet & soulful House remixes by well-known producers, and it doesn’t disappoint. Remixes by multi-talented Danny Dance with his cool rolling deep disco mix, Italy’s Doll Combers who smack of great percussion and classic chords, UK’s Groove Assassins who go deep and delicious. Souldynamic give wicked jazzy styles and are smoother than the sweetest butter, and Mind Street themselves who deliver 2 beautiful mixes, their Original Funky and a more upbeat Mind Street Friendly Remix. With a strong male vocal by previously unknown Jalley Residence, who delivers a charismatic vox reminiscent of 70′s Motown, this is a pure Soulful House gem.

The Hype: Chronophone debuts a 2-track EP on Nite Grooves. “Gold” has a multitude of deep house rhythms coupled with a looped out synthy hypnotic riff. “Voce de Sa Trincha” contains a tripped out incantation and finely tuned minimal Deep & Tech sounds. The remix by Italian Producers/DJs DZeta N’ Basile take the deep and tech and pump up the 4/4, adding more ambient wooshes and a light funky bassline.

The Hype: Kicking off the very first comp of its kind on King St is one of the reigning producers in House Music, namely Kerri “Kaoz” Chandler. His productions, be they some of the most well known House tracks or DJ performances including playing off reel-to-reel machines, holograms and more, have made him one of the most unique and sought after men in the genre. Kerri’s also mentored and worked with some of the best in the biz including Dennis Ferrer, Jerome Sydenham and others, which make him a perfect candidate to launch the series. This includes his most classic cuts in the catalog like “Bar A Thym,” “The Way I Feel,” “Coro,” “Grass Cutter,” and of course “Welcome To King Street” and more. Many of these songs are still being played today and are revived with big room remixes like Supernova’s re-rub of “Hallelujiah,” which can also be found on the in the midst of this whopping 23-song collection.

The Hype: Japanese producers Converge+ come smooth sailing into Nite Grooves musical dock with their Air EP. The EP contains cinematic 4/4 instrumentals with some breezy sax riffs, good ol’ guitar licks, synth washes that created smooth groove funky excursions. Newcomer Satoshi Fumi steers us more in a Balaeric direction adding a bit more clap and swing on “Sequence.”

The Hype: Super suitable kicks and a sweet sonic bounce are just some of the sounds you’ll hear kicking off this 2012 edition of After Hours Miami! House legend Dennis Ferrer feat. KT Brooks How Do I Let Go DJ Slider Remix. Up and coming producers Chocolate Avenue Hot & Salted and chrisB Riddle Me This is sure to get the floor moving. Belgian DJ and Producer Tom De Neef and his truly dope “Huh Huh” instrumental with a rolling baseline a bass drum so intensely deep it might punch a vortex in the middle of the dance floor. Diving deeper into the rhythmic vortex is Tech House producer HouseEssence’s “Ride Me Baby” and European team of Marcelo Vak & Alex Roque, with the chunked out affair Lazy Trombone. Lifting the mood is a progressive deep vocal track by Ron J.B. with floaty vocal by DaDika . A truly great EP of thumping tunes suitable for peak hour just as much as the after.

The Hype: Wow. Three words to the title track of these EP from Russian producer Dub Modo. Spacey. Profound. Sensationalistic. Play the first track loud in earbuds or on a big system and your senses will literally tingle at the intro of “Key From All Doors.” The cool deep & dubby journey continues with “New Step,” an utter heady mind-fuck that breaks rhythmic boundaries, tipping the deep house scale into a little breakbeat. Travel Comet’s up next, included recently in Nite Grooves aptly-named Deep In Tech comp, and we top it all off with a deep & cerebral remix of the title track by one of Italy’s pioneering producers of the genre, Locarini. The Hype: Deep House/Tech House producers  Doomwork take ur head deep into a noddy, hypnotic state and roll out a deep, deep tripped out instrumental. Having been influenced by Chicago House, Detroit Tech and Big Beat Electronica, one can hear the nuances in their productions. Nominated in 2010 for a Deep House Beatport Award, their increasing production workload has been ever consistent with their achievements. On the remix is Seattle House producer Dave Pezzner who vibes with additional warped synth vibrato over the minimal thump track. If dance floor simplicity is the key then this is the lock.

He now comes to Nite Grooves with another downright deep Disco tune “Flashback” with superbly rhythmical spoken word overlay by D.Ham. An impeccable assembly of remixes ranging from the warpy super sweet funked out feel “Backstage” remix by super Swedish Sonic Boom-making team Kruse & Nurenberg, which was originally released on K&N recnt King St comp, to the more organic & acoustic feel of returning producer Yakka’s remix to the more spaced out filtered elastic-synth version of Grand St. Metrotek and a slap-happy raw 4/4 Original Disco Rub that’ll have you trippin’ the light fantastic with tender memories of nightlife past.
