The Hype: Fresh off the success of their Blue Note Mix of Ultra Nate‘s “Party Girl,” Derek Turcios & Maxim Laskavy return with a stunning new release “TAMBOR DE YEMAYA,” a feverish record filled with live Afro-Cuban vocals and intoxicating rhythms. The duo’s signature thumping baselines and musicality is evident in their “Original Cuban Santeria Mix,” where they’re joined by first time collaborator, Serge Taver. “The Medium Size Panther Mix” features world renowned Venezuelan guitarist Arturo Romay and delivers a sensual and scorching performance over beautifully deep and funky house. Anthony Mac of NYC’s Centrofly fame joins the team on “The Main Room At GBH Mix,” a full throttle peak hour banger already being championed in London and Ibiza. The famed Swedish production team INKFISH provides two stellar remixes, first “The Dirty Inkfish Mix,” a mean tribal tech progressive groove and their “Deeper Dub Mix,” a stunning deep house rework perfect for early mornings. Fulvio Perniola of HMM Italy presents his “Pressure Mix,” a full on Ibizan tribal interpretation heard recently on heavy rotation with Madrid’s David Herrero. Phillip Charles of Bedrock London fame presents his “Sur La Playa Mix,” a wicked progressive and tribal tech groove featuring live brass that is getting heavy play in Central and South America. “TAMBOR DE YEMAYA” with its varied styles and diverse remixes is receiving huge support worldwide from some of the biggest names and nights around the globe. Already it’s in the hands of: Danny Tenaglia, Hernan Cattaneo, Tom Middleton, Danny Howells, Abel Ramos, Hector Romero, Wally Lopez, David Herrero, Sander Kleinenberg, DJ Chus, Joris Voorn, Nicole Moudaber, Funk D Void, Tedd Patterson, Louie Vega, Erik Morillo and Roger Sanchez.
