The Hype:

What’s better than listening to brand new, unreleased House Music under the sun, poolside or in a dark, boomin’ nightclub during WMC while thousands of sweaty bodies writhe & bounce in unison to the same rhythm? Not much, but we will say that adding of few of these tunes into the mix will make the dance that much more delish. Presenting an even 30 tracks in the latest installment of Miami 2013. Here’s you’ll find jam after head-nodding-booty-shakin’ jam, full of the deep deep deep like Joeski & Audio KoDe‘s In My House Remix of Supernova “Last Night in NY,” Mihalis Safras WMC Remix of Doomwork‘s “This!,” John Rivera‘s “Believe In Me” (Demarkus Lewis Main Remix), and the Balcazar & Sordo Remix of Sunshine Jones‘ “We Are What We Are” to the pumpy-er and unreleased looped up Queer Baby” (Dub) by Angelo Ferreri, Will Crawshaw & Luke Pompey‘s “Jack City,” “New York” by T. Tommy & Vicente Belenguer, Joeski & Audio KoDe‘s “Potential of The Soul,” and Fabian Argomedo‘s “The Truth,” and others. And what King St comp would ever be truly complete without a few legends like Barbara Tucker (& her new collab with japanese producer Namy, “I Cant’ Wait” with Vocal mix by ATFC), Josh Milan (who also collab’ed with Namy, “From Now On” with dope mix by DJ Spen & N’Dinga Gaba) and a Superb unreleased debut song by French producer DJ Yass and his collab with Inaya Day “Bring It Up,” and many more! We’re thankful WMC has now been extended to 10 days, and with 30 songs and their extended mixes, including 2 continuous mixes by DJ/percussionist The WIG this comp will keep ur floor filled for a good long time.

The Hype:

The Deep. The Tech. The Deep In Tech. These are the sounds we love and

love to share with you. This second volume in the series has 27 of the

most varied remixes, some of which had been leaked out on the samplers.

Be they coming from lands far & wide or taken from catalog classic or

brand new & unreleased, they’re all here and are sure to give good

groove. Australian producers Shades of Gray kick off the comp with a

vibey loop track “Up All Night” and goes into the more heady & spacey

“Mister K” by french producer Didier Largemain & Moodymanc‘s Dub of

Tomoki Tamura “The Rough.” The comp dips into bigger energy tunes like

Mihalis Safras‘ “Moon Spread,” and revisit some familiar classic

territory with Kerri Chandler‘s awesome “So Let the Wind Come,” Quentin Harris‘ “Slow Velocity,” jOHNNYDANGEROUs‘ “Mr.V’s Revenge” (K&N Dub), Dennis Ferrer‘s “P 2 Da J” (Tiger Stripes Remix) and Echologist‘s “Strut.” The comp taps into a few other styles like the funky “Shroom Day” and the Latin-esque “Universal Chant” by Dutch producer Rancido & cucumber cool “Any Day” instrumental by Italian star producer Ivan Iacobucci. Speaking of star Italian producers, Doomwork‘s Remix of

Supernova’s “Energizer” is nothing short of cool funky tech.  These tunes

go so deep you might just slip into another dimension. Including 2x continuous mixes by New York based DJ and King Street very own, NoonStar.

Ananda Project – Beautiful Searching

Title: Beautiful Searching

Label: Nite Grooves

Available Now at Beatport

The Hype:

Ananda has always been an organic-meets-electronic collective effort spearheaded by frontman Chris Brann (pka Wamdue Project, P’Taah, etc.) who for well over a decade has hand-picked a veritable cream of the singing crop to feature on the past 3 albums. Soul-filled and Jazz-influenced singers like Gaelle, Terrance Downs, Heather Johnson, Jonathan Mendelsohn, Lydia Rhodes, Heidi Vogel, Denise White and many others, helped firmly plant the group on the musical map. While Heather has gone solo, Terrance Downs has hung on, contributing and co-writing 2 singles on this album of 14 divinely sweet-sounding songs. Once you listen to “Hanging On,” originally released with remixes by Frankie Feliciano, and “Where Do You Come From?” you’ll hear Terrance’s undeniable charm shining through his vocal and it’s as impressive as the first time you heard it more than 10 years ago. Also returning is Kai Martin with 3 songs, the guitar licked and lovely “A Second,” sweetly rhythmic “Truth Comes Shining Through,” and the funky and flawy “Come Back To Me.” The New Rasmus Faber Remix of “Beautiful Searching” has been added. Debuting on this album are 2 other well-known talented beauties, namely the Japanese R&B/Soulful songstress AK with the jazzy and enchanting “Heaven is Right Here” originally released with remixes by Kiko Navarro, and Mia Tuttavilla’s deep house sensual spoken word “Awareness,” that was originally released as a single with remix by the world-renowned Kerri Chandler. Mia is best known for her vox with Dennis Ferrer on the worldwide smash hit by “Touched The Sky.” Also debuting on this album is Afro-beat/R&B/Soulful songstress Sepsenahki whose soft and sexy voice can be heard on “Love Like This.” This album is just as incredibly well-produced as you’d expect coming from producer Chris Brann, who has never fallen short of offering a musical tour de force time and time again.

Following previous compilers of the series, Kerri Chandler, Sean McCabe and Frankie Feliciano, he collects and seamlessly blends together some of the most celebrated and unreleased productions in the King Street / NiteGrooves / Street King catalog for one fantastic dance floor journey. He starts off with a bit of NuDisco with that super-terrific groovy Silver City Space Mix of P’Taah’s “Fade Away,” and eases into the unreleased xylophone-riddled and flute-twiddled “Grow” by Japanese producers Music Note. He grabs us by the hand and takes us a bit deep with stunning instrumentals, “Aight” by Pablo Fierro and “Quartetto O’batalistico” by Tuccillo & Kiko Navarro, before leading us to the front door of the chapel with Yass’ Main Mix of the gospel house tune “Callin You Lord” by jOHNNYDANGEROUs feat. Pastor Kenny Bobien, and anthemic “You Get Me Lifted” by Urban Soul feat. Craig Davis (Tony Loreto Remix). The comp continues its deep ebb & funky flow with tracks by Franco De Mulero, Vincent Aka Synth Project, Francesco Tarantini, and goes into the widely popular tunes “Found Him” (Kerri Chandler Kaoz 6:23 Dub) by Studio Apartment feat. Monique Bingham, “One Desire” (Alix Alvarez Remix) by Barbara Tucker & Tuccillo. He also pays homage to his Def Mix cohorts by including some astonishing productions by Brooklyn Friends (David Morales) and the Traxsource Top 10 “Return To Love” by DJ Vivona & Joi Cardwell remixed by A Director’s Cut Treatment, aka Frankie Knuckles & Eric Kupper as a bonus cut. Fifteen tunes in all (including 6 Bonus Tracks) all have that same amazing head-boppin’-foot-bouncing’ appeal that you’ll hear in Ibiza, NYC, Miami or wherever Hec happens to be manning the decks. Solid!
